This comment (mildly rewritten) didn’t pass moderation … maybe have this guest on to learn about local LLM’s?
~That Guy’s Original Message:
The only mention of local LLM’s is “You’d need $100,000 to run Claude” ….
Technically close to true but you don’t need Claude. You can run gpt-oss-20b or quen3.5 4B on a $100 laptop. You can run them on a phone. Try the new qwens on whatever hardware you have and ask yourself if you really want your every thought and life-move being monitored by satan.
The vector of this show was directing people to “you will own nothing and be happy” model. Please host a guest that can teach listeners about LLM’s that you can own and control — LLM’s that don’t feed the borg all your thoughts and life-data.
Any reader of this is advised to GOTO r/localllama and learn to run their own LLM.
I bumped heads with Grok over Randianism (Objectivism) … eg. the validity of “intellectual property” … seems like Musk hardcoded this into Grok, because it’s not even the mainstream position. It was unable to reason through the copying/stealing distinction, unable to explain the harm done, it just kept looping Randianisms. Creepy.
