Ep. 406 Evolution vs Simulation Theory

Adam Haman returns to help Bob navigate through yet another Twitter battle, this time on Darwin’s theory of evolution vs. simulation theory (i.e. the notion that we are all in a giant simulation). Lots of interesting fodder to make you think.

People not understanding the difference between “fact” and “theory” is infuriating, and they do it on all sides of every issue.
The biggest reason the simulation hypothesis seems implausible to me is that the world is just way too consistent. When you do things in a video game that the devs didn’t account for, you start seeing crazy glitches, and often the game just plain crashes. I don’t think we have managed to crash reality yet. We don’t even get any glitches. Though maybe some would argue manipulation of things at the quantum level to produce new phenomena is exactly that.
Interesting perspective.
