Ep. 267 Does Jesus Want Matt Walsh to Turn the Other Cheek?

Prompted by a conversation with someone who had been reading the Bible, Bob explains his views on the Sermon on the Mount and how a pacifist society could work. He then uses a Matt Walsh tweet, which calls on right-wingers to “treat them like they treat us,” to explore the difficulties of living up to Jesus’ commands.

Maybe ‘about the author’ should be changed to host of “Radio Rothbard”. I listened to every CK episode, but it’s time to move on from listing that as current.

To the content: Christ’s missive was for us to GIVE to our BRETHREN. Not to institute a state that forcibly takes it.

That doesn’t mean give to people in Africa, or even africans who the Edomites imported into your country, just as they did in Roman times.

To the details: you posit the passerby coming up to a man not resisting getting beaten. But you don’t follow it up… The passerby is supposed to pull out the popcorn and say ‘that’s not good’, by your argument, and sit there, and watch.

All private property requires force to defend it. The bible isn’t about pacifism at all. Not remotely. Not one iota. You just memory blank it. Completely. It’s disgusting.

It’s ludicrous. Read your bible man. https://christogenea.org

We live under the reign of Esau. You know who that means. And we will be called to END IT when Yaweh blows the rtunmpet.

    Hi Dr Murphy,

Listening to this episode and your examples of pacifism, I recall just seeing a scene in The Chosen and think this might be a good example. Season 2, Episode 1, Jesus, John and James are being verbally attached then rocks thrown at them by Samaritans.

Jesus’ response vs the response of James and John, who he then dubs Sons of Thunder, seems to demonstrate this well. Curious if you saw it and think the same.
